  • Of road-based public transport systems, informal services had a market share ranging from 8 percent in Cotonou, Benin to 100 percent in Kampala, Uganda, in a survey of the developing country cities listed below.  
  • The market share is significantly higher in many Sub-Saharan and some Latin American cites, and lower in Asian cities where private bicycles and motorcycles are prevalent.
