With electric mobility emerging as one of the most prominent measures to tackle climate change, it is important to keep in mind the special characteristics of the Indian context. Understanding the kind of testing and accreditation measures required to ensure maximum efficiency of the product can be tricky when it comes to matters like battery safety testing, battery failure analysis, battery and vehicle performance testing, battery fire and abuse testing, and many more.

Hence, in this webinar, Mr. Anand Deshpande from ARAI will throw light on key elements of a topic that needs focused attention, the Testing and Accreditation Status of Electric Vehicles in India, which will be of interest to policy makers, OEMs, EV component manufacturers, operators of all modes, and electricity service providers.

The presentation will address the following areas:

  • What are the current approval requirements/ homologation measures required for electric vehicles?
  • What are the challenges of these testing mechanisms and what kind of technical specifications are expected for the same?
  • What are the required safety measures and recommendations for electric vehicles to pass accreditation tests?
  • What is the status of accreditation for concepts like retrofitting in India?

The 1-hour session will include a presentation and will be followed by Q&A.
