Standardizing Charging of Electric Vehicles: Benefits, Opportunities and Challenges

BOOKMARK

India is moving rapidly towards cleaner transportation with the growth in electric mobility. The Government has introduced suitable policy frameworks to promote electric vehicles, with significant research and development efforts to establish EV components and sub-systems considering Indian tropical conditions.

One topic that needs focused attention is the need for standardization in charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.

In this webinar, Dr. Sajid Mubashir from Department of Science & Technology will throw light on key elements of this topic that will be of interest to various groups, including policy-makers, OEMs, EV component manufacturers and operators of all modes, and electricity service providers.

The presentation will address the following areas:

  • What are the standards for charging infrastructure for EVs and why are they important?
  • What is the current status in terms of outlook, misconceptions, policies, etc. around this topic?
  • What are the key challenges if we adopt or don’t adopt these standards?
  • What are the benefits and opportunities?

The 1-hour session will include a presentation and will be followed by Q&A.
