Participatory science for clean air in Mexican cities (English version)

Participatory science is a collaborative and co-creative process that involves different actors such as academia, government, civil society, scientists, among others. In the development of research and data collection with a common purpose, in this case for the topic of air quality.

This Webinar presents the participatory science process during the air pollutant measurement campaigns in León, Guanajuato and Guadalajara, Jalisco, through the use of low-cost sensors developed by the University of Edinburgh.

In addition, the background to achieve collaboration among participants, the development of the campaigns and the challenges of replicating the exercise and the value of encouraging this process as part of the tools to have technical-scientific information for the design and evaluation of actions to address the problem of poor air quality are addressed. In addition, the most important results of the measurement campaigns will be shared, as well as the experiences of the participants, officials, academia and citizen groups.
